About Bayliss Tire & Auto Clinic
Located at 540 S Main St, Clawson, MI 48017, Bayliss Tire & Auto Clinic operates as an auto repair shop serving Clawson in Michigan. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 7 am–6 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Bayliss Tire & Auto Clinic at (248) 280-1170; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. I can’t say enough good things about this shop. I came in with a serious ABS issue that another mechanic caused, and they fixed it within 24 hours even though they were already busy and had to squeeze me in. My ABS was acting up at highway speeds, and they handled it quickly and correctly. Communication was excellent, the entire staff was incredibly friendly, and you can tell this is a small, family-run shop that genuinely cares. They did a full check of my truck and even caught a wiring harness issue instead of selling me unnecessary bulbs, which saved me money. Their pricing is very fair, everything was explained clearly, and I fully trust them after just one visit. I live about an hour and twenty minutes away and would absolutely drive back here again. Best mechanic experience I’ve ever had.

Kind of a joke of a man unfortunately, couple years back (21'ish) Troy had my regal (lhu) for a few months trying to diagnose a pretty good vibration resonating into the cabin. Turned out to be a variety of timing and flywheel components.. when I go get the car back I noticed he had the passenger side super close to his building.. looking back this was intentional to hide the fact he or someone in his lot hit the car and swiped the rear bottom quarter. Didn't notice till it was too late but I am sure of what he was attempting to do. When I brought it back up he of course denied. Think about this people, his business has been there forever but the reviews are all relatively recent. Kinda makes you think. Good luck and god bless

Continue to be impressed with the great and friendly service. They are honest and only replace what's needed. Very nice guy, Troy that owns the shop. They appear to do any repairs needed, need to bring back but waiting on parts. Finished the repairs and found mistakes from another garage in Troy on Maple. This is the only place I’ll go to in the future. They are honest and do a great job. Had to come in for another repair, again a great place to work with.
